Dr. Dennis Briscoe holds a B.A. in Business Administration and an MBA in Management and Labor Relations from Washington State University, and a Ph.D. in Management from Michigan State University. He is Professor Emeritus of International Management at the University of San Diego and former Associate Director of the John M. Ahlers Center for International Business. He is widely recognized as an expert on International HRM, having written the only comprehensive text on the subject, International Human Resource Management, and has served on the international advisory boards of Deloitte & Touche’s International Assignee Services and IHRM consulting practices group and the Board of Directors of the SHRM Global Forum. Dr. Briscoe has over twenty years experience as a Manager and Personnel Manager in manufacturing, warehousing, and non-profits, has founded or helped to found a number of organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit, and has served on a number of boards. Today, he consults, speaks, teaches, and writes in a number of areas related to international management and human resource management, particularly the new world of business and careers. He has lived and worked in seventeen countries and traveled extensively in about 80 countries. Dr. Briscoe has published over sixty articles and papers in both practitioner and academic journals and 20 chapters in edited books. In addition to his recent text on IHRM, he has authored or co-authored Industrial Relations Around the World, Experiences in Public Administration, and 101 Ways to Motivate Employees.
