The new realities of the world require individuals, organizations, communities and nations to expand their knowledge of the global system and improve their understanding of the new dynamics of globalization that now impact education, business, government and civil society at all levels. The proliferation of new technologies, the explosion of new knowledge, and the re-invention of governments and governed around the world are key driving forces shaping the New Economy and the emerging global socio-political system.
This Non-Degree course is designed to enrich and expand the participant’s understanding of this new globalized reality by presenting each calendar year a series of videoconferences, under a broad theme, addressing various selected topics essential for productivity and global competitiveness, and is directed towards managers and executives, technical and professional personnel, educators, students and public servants at all levels.
Upon completion of this program, the student will be a professional with a broader global knowledge and skills, capable of leading and managing his or her productive activities and organizations more effectively and with a global vision.

Theme: Entrepreneurship and Re-Invention in a New World
New ideas are being transformed into productive value at a rate never seen in recent eras, fueled by our evolving world of increased economic, social and political innovation, knowledge and globalized interactions. Furthermore, information and communication technologies now propel the planning, production, distribution and client support phases of just about all the resulting products and services from local and regional consumers to global markets, with Millennials taking over as the generation of greatest influence and impact on society.
Entrepreneurship is now the premier competitive advantage in education, business, government and civil society, requiring new leadership and managerial styles, re-designed organizational structures and protocols, higher level skills and competencies (i.e., global competencies), and social responsibility with environmental sustainability. These changes mandate re-invention of everything we do, in business, education, government and civil society.

The unique 2016 ITC Annual Series will include crucial topics essential for better understanding the foundations and characteristics of entrepreneurship and re-invention today. Leadership with innovation, organizational visioning and culture, communication in an increasingly multi-generational workplace, and synchronizing strategies and competitive knowledge were selected as themes to be discussed by distinguished invited speakers in the context of our new global realities.
Leadership with Innovation: Adapting to Shifting Flows
It is estimated that as much as 25% of global GDP growth comes from global flows of goods, services, finance, people and data. These represent only 19% of the revenues of emerging markets, which make up an estimated 47% of global consumption. However, there are shifting patterns. For example, although companies from advanced economies have thus far been globalization’s leaders, there is now a new generation of competitors from the multinationals that are arising in emerging countries.Furthermore, small entrepreneurs are adding a new dimension to global competition as they begin to export across borders. New regional hubs are coalescing around the world in emerging countries powered by digitization, while knowledge-intensive goods are now the fastest-growing traded flows across the globe.
