San Diego Global Knowledge University is proud to be accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) through June 2026. DEAC is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1926 that operates as an institutional accreditor of distance education institutions. Accreditation by DEAC covers all distance education activities within an institution and it provides accreditation from the secondary school level through professional doctoral degree-granting institutions. DEAC’s geographic area of accreditation activities includes all states within the United States and international locations. DEAC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an accreditation agency with all its rights and authority.

San Diego Global Knowledge University’s accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) / CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG). CHEA serves its members, students and society through advocacy for the value and independence of accreditation, recognition of accrediting organizations and commitment to quality in higher education. The CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) – CHEA’s international arm – assists institutions and quality assurance organizations worldwide in further enhancing capacity for academic quality and advancing understanding of quality assurance internationally. San Diego Global Knowledge University is a private institution that is licensed to operate in the State of California by the Bureau for Private Post-Secondary Education (BPPE) under School Code 76587244.

The Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education came into existence on January 1, 2010, following passage of Assembly Bill 48, known as the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (California Education Code, Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8).

The mission of BPPE is to promote and protect the interests of students and consumers: (A) through the effective and efficient oversight of California’s private postsecondary educational institutions, (B) through the promotion of competition that rewards educational quality and employment outcomes, (C) through proactively combating unlicensed activity, and (D) by resolving student complaints in a manner that benefits both the complaining student and future students.
