Dr. Valdes is a researcher in the areas of economics, microfinance, and economic growth having published on these and other social science topics in various academic journals and books. He is a faculty member at SDGKU specializing in the area of global management. Dr. Valdes is a native of Cuba, having earned his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Havana. He then studied in Mexico at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte earning an M.S. in Applied Economics and concluded his university studies at the Autonomous University of Baja California where he obtained a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences. He has extensive experience in research, developing several studies around the world, most notably at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Syracuse University, Flacso Argentina, and UDE Uruguay. The above mentioned academic degree(s) have been validated for equivalency in the United States.
